Our Impact

Since 2018, we’ve been building power for Women of Colour in tech.
Through mentorship, technical training, and leadership programs, EMMSTech creates pathways to career growth while challenging the systems that exclude our communities from opportunity and influence.

Why do we exist?

To Increase Representation – Women of color are vastly underrepresented in tech.

To Break Barriers – We face unique challenges in career growth and leadership.

To Build Community – A strong, supportive network empowers and uplifts us.

To Drive Change – We create opportunities for equity, inclusion, and success.

67% of non-white women feel that their identity or background affects their career negatively. And there are at least 10 750 Women of Colour in the Swedish Tech market who are underrepresented, which is why we focus on women of colour.

* Allbright Report “Tech lives the Dude Myth” May 2020

Women’s STEM graduation rates are declining, and they remain underrepresented in fast-growing tech fields like DevOps and cloud. At this rate, their share in European tech roles could fall to 21% by 2027.
